The Frunkly is engineered to fit the front trunk of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. It stays permanently mounted, with no drilling and no modifications to the car. The tabletop measures 70x40 cm and carries up to 10 kg evenly distributed. Folded, it lies flat in the frunk, so your charging cable and small gear still fit. The install is reversible and does not affect the Tesla warranty.

Birch plywood and metal fittings

The birch plywood top with protective lacquer carries up to 10 kg evenly distributed. Hinges and fittings are metal, built for continuous outdoor use.

Working height, not ground level

The surface sits at frunk height, comfortably high. No bending down to ground-level camping tables, just a work surface you can stand at comfortably.

Frequently asked questions about the Frunkly

Which Tesla models fit the Frunkly?
The Frunkly is available for Tesla Model 3 (built from July 2020, including Highland Long Range and Performance) and for Model Y (all versions, including Juniper). Not compatible are the redesigned base variants of Model 3 and Model Y from 2025 with their smaller frunk, and Model 3 built before July 2020. You choose your model at checkout for the exact fit.
How big is the tabletop and how much can it hold?
The Frunkly LT top measures 70x40 cm and holds up to 10 kg, evenly distributed. Do not sit or lean on it. If you want more surface, the Frunkly LTX for Model Y adds a fold-out upper surface: a 70x40 cm lower surface plus a 70x30 cm upper one, around 70 percent more space. You can find both in the store.
How is the Frunkly built?
The tabletop is birch plywood with a protective lacquer, the base is 3D-printed ABS plastic, and the hinges and fittings are metal. Weight is about 5 kg for the LT and around 6 kg for the LTX. Every Frunkly is handmade in Hamburg, including the 3D-printed base.
Do I need to drill or modify my car?
No. The Frunkly mounts without drilling and without any change to the vehicle, and it stays permanently in the frunk. The install is reversible and does not affect the Tesla warranty. Read why a permanently mounted frunk table beats freestanding folding tables on Why Frunkly.
Is there still room in the frunk with the Frunkly mounted?
Yes. Folded, the top lies flat in the frunk. Your charging cable and small gear still fit. On longer drives it is also the ideal table for breaks, more on that on the Tesla road trip page.
Is there a DIY version where I supply my own tabletop?
Yes. The Maker Kit includes the mounting base with folding hinges, brackets, screws and instructions. You choose the tabletop yourself, whether wood, acrylic, carbon or 3D print. The ready-made version with a birch plywood top is the standard Frunkly.
What does the Frunkly cost and what warranty do I get?
The Frunkly is available from 249 EUR, and you can see the current price in the store. All prices are final. VAT is not shown separately per Section 19 of the German VAT Act (Kleinunternehmer). You get the 2-year statutory warranty and a 14-day right of withdrawal, and replacement parts are available.
