Introducing Frunkly LT & LTX: Faster Setup, Lower Price, Same Quality
The next generation of frunk tables is here
When we launched the original Frunkly (now called Series 1), we weren't sure what to expect. Turns out, Tesla owners really wanted a frunk table. But they also told us exactly what they wanted to improve. Setup time. Price. Size options. We listened, we iterated, and today we're releasing the result: Frunkly LT and Frunkly LTX.

Frunkly LT: Faster setup (<10 seconds), lower price, works with Model 3 and Model Y. Same quality wood surface. Frunkly LTX: Extended size with 70% more workspace, Model Y only. For those who want maximum table space.
What We Learned from Series 1
The original Frunkly worked well. Customers used it for everything we imagined - Supercharger lunches, camping breakfasts, roadside work sessions - and things we didn't anticipate: photography platforms, vendor displays at car meets, impromptu workstations at events.
But the feedback was consistent:
"Setup takes too long" - Series 1 needed multiple steps. Unfold, position, lock. It worked, but it wasn't instant.
"I want a bigger surface" - Especially Model Y owners, whose larger frunks could accommodate more.
"Can you make it more affordable?" - Not everyone needs the absolute maximum. Some wanted a simpler option.
We couldn't solve all of these with one product. So we made two.
Frunkly LT: The Everyday Table
LT stands for 'Light' - but it's not about weight (though it is slightly lighter). It's about simplicity.
Setup time: Under 10 seconds
The new mounting system is fundamentally simpler. One motion to deploy, one motion to stow. No locks to engage, no positions to adjust. Flip it up, it's ready. Flip it down, drive away.
Price: Significantly lower
Simpler design means lower manufacturing complexity. We're passing that saving directly to the price. The LT is the most accessible Frunkly we've made.
Compatibility: Model 3 and Model Y
Same universal fit as before. Works with all Model 3 and Model Y variants.

Frunkly LTX: Maximum Workspace
Some customers don't want compromise. They want the biggest table that fits. The LTX is for them.
70% more surface area
The LTX extends further and wider, using the full width of the Model Y frunk. That's enough space for two laptops, a proper meal spread, or whatever else you need room for.
Model Y only
The extended size only fits Model Y frunks. Model 3 owners: the standard LT is your match.
Same fast setup as LT
The larger surface doesn't mean slower deployment. Same one-motion operation as the LT.
Which One Should You Get?
Choose LT if: You have a Model 3, want the lowest price, or prefer the standard size. Choose LTX if: You have a Model Y and want maximum workspace. Popular with remote workers and camping enthusiasts.
What Stayed the Same
Not everything changed. The things that made Frunkly work in the first place remain:
Quality wood surface
Same sustainably sourced birch multiplex with eucalyptus veneer. Food-safe, durable, naturally beautiful. Slight variation in grain pattern - that's real wood.
Solid construction
Aluminum components, quality hinges, proper engineering. These tables are built to last years of regular use.
German manufacturing
Still made in Germany. Still supporting local production and minimizing shipping impact.
No tools required
Installation remains tool-free. If you can open your frunk, you can install Frunkly.
What Happens to Series 1?
The original Frunkly Series 1 is being discontinued. Here's what that means:
For current owners:
- Your table works exactly as before
- We'll continue supporting existing products
- Replacement parts remain available
- Nothing changes for you
For new customers:
- Series 1 is no longer available for purchase
- LT and LTX are the new options
- Both new products improve on the original in key ways
Series 1 served us well. It proved the concept and taught us what to build next. The LT and LTX are better products because of what we learned.
